Biography

Adam Horowitz is an emerging jazz trumpet player. Born and raised in New York City, Adam was always exposed to great music. It didn’t hurt that his entire family are musicians as well. In the fourth grade, Adam was introduced to the trumpet by his elementary school assistant music teacher.  He has never looked back since. 

He continued his studies in the prestigious LaGuardia High School for the Performing Arts, where he first gained a love for jazz from his teacher Kevin Blancq. While there, he had the privilege of sharing the stage with many jazz greats such as Wynton Marsalis, Wycliffe Gordon, Ray Vega, Arturo O’Farill, and Terell Stafford. During High School, he was also part of the Jazz Standard Youth Orchestra. They played at the famous Jazz Standard Club every week and got to play with Jeremy Pelt, Peter Bernstein, and Larry Willis.

Upon graduating from LaGuardia, Adam continued his studies at the world-famous Eastman School of Music where he studied with Clay Jenkins and Doug Prosser.  He also had the opportunity to play with Dick Oatts, Rich Perry, Seamus Blake, Ralph Lalama, and John Clayton to name a few. He has also studied with Scott Wendholt, Terell Stafford, and Nicholas Payton.

Adam is very excited to return to New York City and begin his professional career. It will be exciting to see where Adam’s talent takes him in the future.
